In a major step for Pakistan’s telecom and energy sectors, Infralectric, a Brillanz Group company, has launched the country’s first Green Sukuk for the telecom industry alongside the successful completion of a 25MWh AI-powered Energy Storage-as-a-Service (ESaaS) project, powered by Thunder AI.
The dual milestone highlights Pakistan’s growing shift toward sustainable finance and low-carbon infrastructure. The AI-driven ESaaS project introduces advanced battery storage for telecom towers, cutting diesel consumption by over 5 million liters annually while reducing 13,500 tons of CO₂ emissions each year—equivalent to planting more than 220,000 trees. The system also ensures higher uptime, making telecom infrastructure more reliable and efficient.
Infralectric’s Green Sukuk, launched in partnership with InfraZamin Pakistan, is valued at up to PKR 3 billion. The Shariah-compliant financial instrument is 100% principal guaranteed and introduces a sustainable financing model to modernize telecom towers with AI-enabled green technologies. This marks a pivotal moment in unlocking climate-resilient financing options for Pakistan’s digital infrastructure.
Bilal Qureshi, CEO of Brillanz Group, called the launch a historic moment for the country’s digital and energy future, emphasizing that innovation and sustainability must go hand in hand to deliver growth.
Fahd Haroon, Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Digital Media, praised the achievement as a milestone in strengthening Pakistan’s economy and climate commitments through scalable green investments.
Maheen Rahman, CEO of InfraZamin Pakistan, underscored the significance of the Sukuk market in mobilizing private capital at scale, stating that such initiatives will modernize critical telecom infrastructure while contributing to Pakistan’s decarbonization and long-term economic resilience.
The announcement was made at a high-profile event attended by senior government leaders, banking executives, and telecom industry heads, where panel discussions reinforced the role of sustainable finance and AI-powered infrastructure in shaping Pakistan’s green digital transformation.
