The largest Muslim country in the world has decided to send 20000 troops to Gaza. Indonesia has announced the deployment of over 20,000 peacekeepers to the Gaza Strip to help restore peace and stability. President Prabowo Subianto announced during his address at the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Indonesia’s Commitment to Global Peace
President Subianto highlighted Indonesia’s long-standing role as one of the largest contributors to UN peacekeeping missions. He stated that Indonesia stands ready to deploy 20,000 or more peacekeepers to Gaza or any other conflict zone if the UN Security Council or General Assembly authorizes such a mission.
He stressed that Indonesia remains fully committed to supporting international peace efforts and regional stability. According to Subianto, Indonesia’s participation would strengthen global cooperation and demonstrate the nation’s dedication to humanitarian values.
Support for a Palestinian State: Largest Muslim country is sending 20000 troops to Gaza
During his speech, President Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong support for the creation of an independent Palestinian state. He emphasized that a lasting peace between Israel and Palestine requires mutual recognition and reliable security guarantees for Israel as well.
Subianto explained that sustainable peace depends on equal security assurances, noting that Indonesia encourages dialogue and constructive engagement between both sides.
International Efforts and US Encouragement
Meanwhile, US media reports indicated that the United States is urging Arab and Muslim nations to contribute to peacekeeping missions in Gaza. American officials believe that such contributions would help facilitate Israel’s withdrawal and enable the rebuilding of Palestinian institutions.
The United States is also encouraging these countries to help fund reconstruction projects and support a peaceful transfer of power in Palestine.
Outlook for Regional Stability
Indonesia’s proposal adds significant momentum to global efforts aimed at stabilizing Gaza and advancing a two-state solution. If approved by the UN, the deployment of Indonesian peacekeepers could provide critical support for humanitarian operations and long-term peace.
