Murree has introduced a new electric cart “City Tour” service at Kashmir Point, offering visitors an eco-friendly way to explore the popular hill station. The initiative is part of a broader tourism development plan being carried out under the Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).
The service was inaugurated by PTDC Managing Director Asim Raza and is designed to provide both convenience and sustainability. Tourists will now have a clean, efficient, and scenic option for exploring Murree’s main attractions without adding to traffic congestion or environmental pollution.

The project will be executed by the Walled City Authority Lahore in collaboration with experts and local administration. The aim is to preserve the road’s historic charm while modernizing its infrastructure to meet today’s tourism needs.
Furthermore, authorities believe that this restoration will significantly enhance the tourist experience. It will bring back the glory of Murree as a premier travel destination.
Vision for a Global Tourism Hub
The provincial leadership has emphasized that no compromise will be made on quality. The goal is to transform Murree into a model destination that can attract both domestic and international tourists. By combining modern facilities with preservation of its historical heritage, Murree is expected to gain recognition as a leading global tourism hub.
A Step Toward Sustainable Tourism
The introduction of eco-friendly electric carts reflects a growing focus on sustainable tourism practices. With increased awareness of climate challenges, providing cleaner transportation options is becoming an essential part of tourism planning. Murree’s adoption of these practices highlights its commitment to balancing environmental protection with tourism growth.
