Victim Says Matter Resolved, No Objection to Bail
In a significant turn of events, TikToker Samiya Hijab withdrew her complaint during a hearing in Islamabad, leading to the granting of bail to accused Hassan Zahid in an alleged case of kidnapping and threats. The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Amir Zia on Monday.
During the court proceedings, Hijab recorded her statement, telling the judge that the dispute had been settled outside of court. When asked directly whether she objected to Zahid being granted bail or acquitted, she said she had no objection. Her statement effectively cleared the way for the court to release the accused on bail.
Bail Granted Amid Media Restrictions and Police Records
Following Hijab’s statement, Judge Zia approved Zahid’s bail, closing a chapter in what had been a high-profile case involving a social media influencer. According to police records, two separate FIRs had been filed against Zahid at Shalimar Police Station in Islamabad.
Before the court proceedings began, court staff instructed media personnel to leave the courtroom, limiting public access to the details of the hearing. No additional comments were made by either party after the session concluded, and it remains unclear whether further legal action will be pursued.
This case highlights the increasing public scrutiny surrounding social media personalities and the legal consequences that sometimes follow their online fame.
