Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha on Thursday for a day-long visit to express solidarity with Qatar. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. Upon his arrival, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani received him at Doha Airport.
Meeting With Qatari Leadership
During the visit, PM Shehbaz will meet Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He will convey Pakistan’s strong solidarity with Qatar after Israeli airstrikes targeted Hamas leaders in Doha’s residential areas. The Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistan condemned the “unjustified aggression” as a blatant violation of international laws. The Prime Minister will also reaffirm that Qatar and Pakistan share fraternal ties based on faith, trust, and shared values.
Shared Concerns Over Israeli Aggression
Their consultations will include discussions on Israel’s recent attacks on several countries in the region. Both leaders are expected to deliberate on efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East. PM Shehbaz will underscore Pakistan’s commitment to support Qatar during challenging times. He will highlight that Pakistan consistently stands with both Qatar and the people of Palestine.
Pakistan’s Strong Condemnation
Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s recent strikes, calling them a threat to regional peace and stability. PM Shehbaz described the attack on Qatar as “totally unjustifiable and a brazen violation of sovereignty.” He stressed that Pakistan stood firmly with Qatar and Palestine against Israeli aggression. FM Ishaq Dar echoed these sentiments, condemning the attacks as “reprehensible” and unlawful. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Qatar’s sovereignty and security.
Commitment to Peace
The visit highlights Pakistan’s consistent support for Middle Eastern stability and its opposition to unlawful military aggression. By standing with Qatar, Islamabad has reinforced its role as a reliable partner during crises in the Muslim world.
