Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has strongly condemned the circulation of fake pornographic images of herself and other prominent women on a pornographic website, describing it as a deeply “regrettable act.”
According to CNN, doctored photos and videos featuring Meloni, her sister Arianna Meloni—a senior leader of the ruling Brothers of Italy party—and several other female politicians and celebrities were published on a platform called Phica, a name derived from a sexual term in the Italian language.
The images, collected from public sources and distorted with misogynistic captions, sparked outrage across Italy. Following public backlash, the website was shut down.
The platform’s administrators claimed that the content was uploaded by millions of users in violation of its rules, insisting they bore no direct responsibility. However, critics argue the site enabled systematic online abuse.
Speaking to an Italian newspaper, Meloni expressed solidarity with the women targeted, saying:
“All my sympathy and support are with those women whom the administrators and users of this forum defamed, insulted, and dishonored.”
She added that it was unacceptable that in 2025, society still tolerated behavior that sought to “crush a woman’s dignity with sexual and filthy words.”
This incident has reignited debate in Italy about online misogyny, deepfake abuse, and the urgent need for stronger digital safety regulations to protect women from cyber-harassment.
Syed Noor’s Love Affair with Saima
Renowned Pakistani filmmaker Syed Noor has opened up about how his blockbuster film Ghunghat not only reshaped his career but also changed the course of his personal life.
In a recent interview, Noor recalled how unexpected casting changes led to the pairing of Shaan and Saima, and ultimately, to his lifelong relationship with the actress.
Casting Twists that Changed Everything
Originally, Noman Ijaz was set to play the male lead, while Neeli was selected as the heroine. However, both actors backed out before filming began. Noor revealed that Noman’s withdrawal opened the door for Shaan, though some distributors initially resisted his casting and even demanded refunds. Despite the pushback, Noor stood firm, insisting on Shaan, who went on to deliver a memorable performance.
Similarly, when Neeli exited the project, the lead role was offered to Saima. This unexpected change not only elevated Saima’s career but also marked the beginning of her bond with Syed Noor.
