Pakistan’s sports goods industry has recorded a major milestone, with exports hitting a 32-month high in July 2025. According to official trade data, the total value of exported sports items reached $38.9 million, marking the strongest monthly performance since October 2022. This surge was largely driven by a sharp increase in the export of footballs and players’ gloves, signaling a strong rebound in the sector after months of inconsistent performance.
The latest figures reflect a 32.50% increase in sports goods exports compared to previous months. This growth follows a challenging period earlier this year, where the sector saw a 22.86% decline in April. However, July’s strong showing suggests a recovery is well underway.
Football Exports Lead the Surge
The standout performer in July was football exports, which jumped by 44.70%, generating $25.72 million in revenue. This growth reflects Pakistan’s continued dominance in the global football manufacturing market, particularly as demand ramps up ahead of major international tournaments.
Pakistan, especially the city of Sialkot, is known worldwide for its hand-stitched footballs, which are used in various international leagues and events, including the FIFA World Cup. The sharp increase in demand indicates renewed global interest in Pakistani-manufactured sports equipment.
Gloves Exports Also on the Rise
Exports of players’ gloves also saw a respectable increase of 9.18%, with $5.03 million in shipments recorded for the month. This suggests steady demand in markets that rely on high-quality sporting accessories, with Pakistani manufacturers benefiting from long-standing reputations for craftsmanship and durability.
The positive trend in July marks the second significant growth spurt since October 2022, when exports previously spiked by 35.52%. Industry experts believe that sustained investment in quality, innovation, and global partnerships is helping Pakistan maintain its competitive edge in the international sports goods market.
