Major Milestone for Fuel Innovation
On August 26, 2025, Wafi Energy Pakistan announced the launch of the new Shell V-Power. The premium fuel promises greater power and enhanced engine performance. This launch marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s energy and mobility sector.
Shell’s Long Legacy in Pakistan
Shell’s journey in Pakistan began in 1947 as Burmah Shell. Over 78 years, it contributed to industries, infrastructure, and energy growth. In 1970, Burmah Shell became Pakistan Burmah Shell, and by 1993 it transitioned into Shell Pakistan Limited. Today, under Wafi Energy Pakistan, this legacy continues with global expertise and local vision.
Innovation and Sustainability
Shell pioneered several innovations in Pakistan, including the first retail station built with recycled plastic. The new Shell V-Power reflects a continuation of this tradition, combining performance with sustainability.
Saudi-Pakistan Energy Ties
Wafi Energy, Shell’s exclusive licensee in Saudi Arabia, now leads operations in Pakistan. A representative from the Saudi Embassy noted that Wafi Energy’s entry highlights the deepening partnership between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Commitment to Customers
Javaid Akhtar, Director of Wafi Energy Pakistan, emphasized the company’s customer-first approach. He stated that the launch of Shell V-Power represents an investment in Pakistan’s mobility future. The fuel is designed to deliver efficiency, innovation, and unmatched performance.
Strategic Investment and Growth
In 2024, Wafi Holding acquired an 87.78% stake in Shell Pakistan Limited. This transition signaled not only a change in ownership but also a strategic GCC investment. The acquisition strengthens Wafi Energy’s position in Pakistan’s energy sector while expanding Shell’s global legacy.
Expanding Network and Infrastructure
Wafi Energy Pakistan operates over 600 Shell retail sites nationwide. The company manages not only oil terminals but also a lubricants blending plant, and a wide portfolio of global Shell lubricants. As the largest private investor in the White Oil Pipeline, Wafi Energy plays a pivotal role in Pakistan’s energy infrastructure.
