ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a significant update to its Pak-ID mobile application, adding a range of user-friendly features designed to simplify identity registration processes and improve accessibility for citizens.
The update is particularly beneficial for parents of young children, as it now allows them to upload photographs directly from their mobile gallery when applying for a Child Registration Certificate (CRC) or identity card for children under the age of three. This eliminates the need to visit NADRA offices and stand in long queues, offering much-needed convenience.
The latest upgrade introduces several improvements. The photo-uploading flexibility enables users to have their submitted photographs printed on official identity documents. The family record update option allows citizens to register previously unrecorded family members directly through the application.
Another major development is the introduction of free biometric access, which lets users submit applications without fingerprint or facial verification, a feature particularly helpful for those with limited biometric accessibility. Furthermore, the Urdu interface has been enhanced, providing clearer instructions and smoother navigation for native speakers.
These improvements are part of NADRA’s broader efforts to modernize services under the Pak Identity program. Other features include real-time tracking of identity documents, the ability to book appointments at NADRA centres, and online payment options through Easypaisa, JazzCash, and e-Sahulat.
Citizens are encouraged to download or update the Pak-ID app on Android and iOS devices to benefit from these new services.
Earlier, NADRA had already added a feature to track application statuses online, enabling citizens to monitor progress without visiting centres.
With the growing number of services available digitally—including CNICs, B-Forms, and Family Registration Certificates—the Pak-ID mobile application is becoming a comprehensive one-stop solution for identity management in Pakistan.
