Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz is under fire for controversial remarks following a shocking incident at a daycare center in Noida, India, where a 15-month-old baby was violently assaulted by a staff member.
The incident, captured on CCTV, showed the toddler being slapped, thrown to the floor, and hit with a plastic belt. Indian authorities have confirmed the arrest of the suspect, while the daycare’s management is being investigated for negligence.
Iqra Aziz’s Statement Sparks Outrage
In response, Iqra Aziz posted an Instagram story urging parents not to send their children to daycare unless supervised by a trusted family member. She added that those without such support should “stop bringing these little flowers into this world.”
The comments were quickly labeled as “tone-deaf” and “privileged” by critics online.
Public Reaction
Social media users slammed the actress for blaming working parents instead of focusing on the abuse itself. One user wrote:
“Not everyone has the luxury of full-time family support. Many parents work out of necessity, not choice.”
Another commented:
“Your words reflect privilege, not empathy. Condemn the abuser, not struggling parents.”
Many pointed out that Aziz’s remarks overlooked the economic realities faced by countless families, especially in societies where both parents must work to sustain a household. Others emphasized that, while horrifying incidents like the Noida case must be addressed, responsible and safe daycare centers do exist and are essential for many.
Aziz has not responded further to the criticism as of yet.
