Spain has officially introduced its Digital Nomad Visa, offering Pakistani professionals and freelancers a low-cost and flexible route to live and work in Europe. At a processing cost of approximately Rs21,500, this visa is now among the most affordable international work visa options for Pakistani citizens.
Launched under Spainโs Startup Act, the Digital Nomad Visa allows non-EU nationals, including those from Pakistan, to live in Spain for one year, with the option to extend it for up to five years.
This initiative aims to attract global digital talent to support Spainโs growing tech and freelance economy โ while offering an accessible alternative for remote professionals from Pakistan looking for international mobility.
Who Can Apply and Whatโs Required
The visa targets remote workers, freelancers, and business owners. Eligible applicants must show theyโve worked for at least three months with their current employer or clients and that at least 80% of their income comes from outside Spain.
Key Requirements for Pakistani Applicants:
- Valid passport (minimum 12 months validity)
- Proof of remote work (contracts, employment letters)
- Company or employer must be operational for over one year
- Monthly income must be at least โฌ2,762 (PKR 856,000 approx.)
- For a spouse: โฌ3,797
- For each child: Add โฌ346 to monthly income
- Clean criminal background (apostilled)
- Valid international health insurance
- Education (degree/diploma) or 3 years of relevant work experience
- Tax records and proof of 100% ownership (for business owners)
- Resume/CV outlining professional background
- Proof of family relationship for dependents
Freelancers may serve clients in Spain, but Spanish income must not exceed 20% of total earnings.

Applicants can apply from Pakistan or even while in Spain on a tourist visa. The process includes:
