KARACHI: A legal feud has erupted in Pakistan’s entertainment industry as actress Alizeh Shah served a defamation notice to fellow actress Minsa Malik, accusing her of character assassination, spreading false allegations, and attempting to tarnish her public image.
In the legal notice, Shah demanded a public apology within 48 hours, alleging that Malik’s “false, baseless, and malicious” statements have damaged her reputation and impacted her mental well-being. Shah also shared images of the legal notice on her verified Instagram account, confirming that legal proceedings had begun.
The notice accuses Malik of sharing fake videos, using derogatory language, and even physically assaulting Shah during the filming of a past drama serial. “Minsa Malik not only slapped me on set but also spread fabricated stories about me online,” the notice claims.
The actresses’ feud reportedly stems from an on-set altercation that occurred several years ago. Actor Sami Khan, who was part of the same project, had previously acknowledged tensions between the two during shooting.
Recently, Alizeh Shah has become increasingly outspoken on social media, highlighting alleged toxic behaviour and mistreatment in showbiz. She has named several prominent figures, including veteran singers Shazia Manzoor and Jagan Kazim, accusing them of unprofessional conduct.
In a series of Instagram stories, Shah claimed that the conflict with Malik has escalated further. She alleged receiving threatening messages and anonymous calls after her personal phone number was allegedly shared by Malik with an individual based in Dubai.
“Three years ago, this same woman tried to defame me,” Shah wrote. “I’ve earned everything through hard work. Those who live off haram earnings neither fear God nor consequences.”
Shah also posted screenshots of unidentified calls and messages, claiming she was harassed and received inappropriate offers from a Dubai-based caller who, she alleges, obtained her contact from Minsa Malik.
The legal notice demands that Minsa Malik remove all defamatory content and issue a formal public apology, warning of further legal consequences if she fails to comply.
So far, Minsa Malik has not publicly responded to the accusations or the legal notice.
The dispute has triggered widespread debate on social media, with fans and industry professionals commenting on the growing pattern of public feuds and harassment claims within Pakistan’s entertainment sector.
