Former Superman star Brandon Routh has warmly praised David Corenswet’s performance in James Gunn’s newly released Superman film. “I Cried Three Times,” Says Routh
“It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. I think David is fantastic. I cried no less than three times,” Routh revealed. He was especially touched by the emotional moments between Lois Lane and Clark Kent. “Watching him navigate those tricky Superman moments in that first apartment conversation really moved me,” he added, acknowledging Corenswet’s ability to humanize the superhero.

Beyond the action, it was the film’s heartfelt portrayal of family dynamics that left a lasting impact on Routh. “All the family stuff really hit me hard. It was heartwarming,” he said. “It’s a big movie. There’s a lot in there. I have to go see it again.” His remarks reflect how the film resonates on both a personal and cinematic level.

Routh also weighed in on the broader reboot of the DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran. “I’m excited for the potential of the new DC Universe,” he said. “A successful launch is great for everyone who loves what DC has to offer. There are so many great stories still waiting to be told.”
