Firing Incident
RAWALPINDI: On Thursday, police revealed that four individuals were sadly killed in a targeted shooting incident on Bhon Road in Naddi, a village in Rawalpindi district’s Kahuta Tehsil. A severe property dispute between different parties that had been going on for a while led to the deaths of the victims, who included two brothers.
The deceased have been identified as Junaid Gul, his brother Samar Iqbal, along with Mateen Kayani and Shoaib. According to initial reports, all four were travelling together in a vehicle on Bhon Road when members of the opposing group suddenly opened fire, killing them on the spot. Their bodies were swiftly transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Kahuta for post-mortem and further legal procedures.
Senior Police Officer Saddar Rawalpindi, Nabeel Khokhar, quickly arrived at the scene alongside a police team to secure the area and gather forensic evidence. Khokhar revealed that the shooting was the latest violent escalation in a longstanding land dispute between two groups linked to the Sihala area of Islamabad.
Further investigations revealed that several individuals from both factions involved in this case were already wanted by police in Rawalpindi and Islamabad for various serious criminal offenses.
The police have registered a case regarding the incident and have formed specialized teams tasked with tracking down and apprehending the suspects responsible for the brutal attack.
In response to the incident, the Inspector General of Punjab took immediate notice and has ordered the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi to submit a detailed report on the matter. The IG Punjab has instructed law enforcement agencies to deploy all available resources to ensure the swift arrest of those involved in this heinous crime.
Authorities have assured the public that they are working diligently and expect to arrest the perpetrators soon. The investigation is ongoing from multiple angles to uncover the full circumstances behind the shooting.
Meanwhile, the incident has instilled fear and panic among local residents, who are deeply disturbed by the violence in their community. Police have increased their presence in the area to restore calm and reassure the public of their safety.
