KARACHI: A tragic incident unfolded in Lyari’s Baghdadi area on Friday when a five-storey residential building collapsed, leaving at least two people dead and six others injured, according to rescue officials.
Emergency responders confirmed that two bodies were recovered from the rubble, while six survivors, including a woman, were pulled out with injuries. Rescue teams fear that more individuals may still be trapped beneath the debris, and a search and rescue operation is ongoing.
Medical officials at Civil Hospital’s Trauma Centre stated that one of the injured is in critical condition, while the remaining five sustained minor injuries and are currently under treatment.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely as rescue efforts persist in hopes of finding any additional survivors.
