Arrest follows viral videos showing guards brandishing weapons in public
LAHORE: Controversial TikTok personality Kashif Zameer was arrested once again on Wednesday by the Crime Control Department (CCD) in Lahore’s Iqbal Town, after videos surfaced on social media showing his private guards openly displaying firearms in public.
Police officials confirmed that Zameer was taken into custody along with 13 armed guards following a swift operation. The CCD acted on the viral footage, which showed the guards flaunting weapons in a public setting — an act deemed dangerous and unlawful.
Multiple cases have been registered against Zameer and his security team under various legal provisions, including charges related to the illegal display of arms and posing a threat to public safety.
According to police sources, a significant cache of weapons was confiscated during the arrests. Authorities are currently investigating the legitimacy of the firearms and the legal status of the guards’ deployment.
Zameer, who is known for his extravagant lifestyle and frequent legal controversies, has previously faced several criminal charges — including fraud, impersonation, and violations under cybercrime laws.
Earlier in April, he was also booked by Lahore police after a video circulated of him mocking the police uniform at a wedding ceremony. In that incident, Zameer, alongside a police constable, was seen presenting a money-filled tray and showering currency notes over the uniformed official, allegedly undermining the dignity of the police department.
FIRs in that case included serious charges under the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and other penal laws.
