Cambridge International Education (CIE) has announced that students affected by the recent exam paper leak will be eligible to retake the compromised exams free of charge during the November 2025 series.
The offer applies to candidates who sat any of the following leaked papers during the June 2025 exam session:
- AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 12
- AS & A Level Mathematics Paper 42
- AS & A Level Computer Science Paper 22
CIE confirmed that results for these syllabuses will still be issued as usual, but the optional free resits are being offered to ensure fairness for all impacted students.
“We have sent a message to all affected candidates and their families via schools,” a CIE spokesperson said. “Further guidance will be shared after the release of the June 2025 results. Students with concerns should contact their schools.”
Last month, CIE concluded an internal investigation into the leak, reporting its findings to the Federal Ministry of Education. The inquiry uncovered credible evidence of malpractice, confirming that parts of three exam papers were circulated shortly before the scheduled exam dates.
Details of the leak include:
- One question leaked from A Level Mathematics Paper 12
- Portions of two questions leaked from Mathematics Paper 42
- Parts of one question leaked from Computer Science Paper 22
The board has not yet disclosed the source of the leak but reiterated its commitment to maintaining exam integrity and supporting affected students.
