The federal government has officially announced a hike in gas prices for selected sectors, effective July 1 (Tuesday), according to a fresh notification issued this week.
The revised rates will impact bulk consumers, the power sector, and various industrial segments. However, domestic gas tariffs remain unchanged, offering some relief to households — though their monthly fixed charges have been increased, which may still affect overall billing.
Sectors exempt from the tariff hike include domestic consumers, tandoors, commercial users, CNG stations, general industry, cement, and the fertilizer sector.
The move reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to adjust energy pricing while attempting to shield residential users from further financial burden amid rising living costs.
