Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that Tehran will never abandon its nuclear technology, asserting that the nation’s achievements in this field are irreversible and rooted in sacrifice and resilience.
In remarks to the media, Araghchi stated:
“We have worked extremely hard to acquire nuclear technology. Our scientists have made great sacrifices, and our people have endured many hardships. Under the false pretext of nuclear weapons, war was imposed upon us.”
He emphasized that Iran remains fully committed to maintaining and advancing its nuclear programme, regardless of international pressure or threats.
The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) also reaffirmed Iran’s stance, saying the nuclear programme is entirely peaceful and integral to the country’s scientific development.
AEOI spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Tuesday, “Iran’s nuclear industry is deeply embedded in our scientific and technological framework. It cannot be dismantled by hostile actions or external pressure.”
He added, “They must understand this industry has taken root within our nation. Given our capabilities, its advancement is essential—and it will not be stopped.”
These comments came in the wake of an unauthorized U.S. airstrike targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—all of which are under full IAEA supervision. The attack prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to claim that the objective was to “destroy” Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Responding to the strike, Araghchi insisted that Iran’s nuclear energy programme is based on indigenous expertise and “cannot be eliminated through bombing.”
Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear chief Mohammad Eslami told Mehr News that assessments are underway to repair damage caused by the attacks. “We have initiated measures to restore the facilities and prevent any disruption to our production and services,” Eslami stated.
