Iran has issued a clear warning to the United States, stating it will respond decisively if Washington becomes directly involved in Israel’s ongoing military operations, according to Ali Bahreini, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Bahreini accused the U.S. of being “complicit in what Israel is doing,” and said Tehran had already communicated its position to Washington through diplomatic channels.
“The message was clear: any direct U.S. involvement will be met with a firm and serious response,” he stated.
While the United States has so far avoided direct military engagement, it has provided indirect support by assisting in intercepting Iranian missiles aimed at Israel. U.S. officials have also confirmed the deployment of additional fighter jets to the Middle East and the extension of missions for existing air assets.
Bahreini warned that Iran would not hesitate to retaliate against continued Israeli aggression. “We will not show any reluctance in defending our people, our security, and our land. Our response will be serious, strong, and without restraint,” he declared.
Meanwhile, tensions on the ground continue to escalate. Iranian media reported that thousands of residents were fleeing Tehran and other major cities on Wednesday amid a new wave of missile exchanges between Iran and Israel. Explosions were reported over Tel Aviv after the Israeli military confirmed that two barrages of Iranian missiles had been launched in the early hours of the day.
Despite international calls for de-escalation, including from U.S. President Donald Trump who demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” both nations remain locked in an intensifying military confrontation.
