Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to eliminate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei for regime change in Iran. Israeli PM also declared the elimination of Iran’s nuclear capabilities as Israel’s foremost strategic priority, asserting that the country is “on the path to victory” amid escalating hostilities with Tehran.
In an interview with a British media outlet and remarks made during an online press conference, Netanyahu claimed that the Israeli Air Force now enjoys “complete control over Tehran’s airspace” and has destroyed hundreds of Iranian rockets along with numerous missile launch sites in recent military operations.
“We are changing the face of the Middle East,” he stated. “We will never allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. That is our red line.”
Netanyahu accused Iran of continuing efforts to acquire nuclear arms and long-range ballistic missiles, warning that “reducing the threat of Iran’s missile and nuclear programs is our top priority.”
Iran’s Leadership in the Crosshairs?
During a controversial moment in an interview with ABC News, Netanyahu was asked to respond to reports that Israel had considered targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — a proposal allegedly rejected by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Netanyahu neither confirmed nor denied the report, instead responding: “It’s not going to escalate the conflict; it’s going to end the conflict.”
He went on to accuse Iran of fueling decades of regional instability. “We’ve had half a century of conflict instigated by this regime — bombing Saudi oil fields, spreading terrorism, subversion, and sabotage. This is Iran’s ‘forever war’ and it’s bringing us to the brink of nuclear disaster.”
He asserted that Israel’s actions are meant to stop Iran’s aggression: “What Israel is doing is preventing that, by standing up to the forces of evil.”
When pressed about potential assassination plans against Iran’s leadership, Netanyahu remained vague: “I’m not going to get into details, but we’ve already targeted their top nuclear scientists,” he said, referring to Iran’s nuclear team as “basically Hitler’s nuclear team.”
The comments come amid a sharp escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict, which has drawn international alarm over the potential for regional war and further nuclear proliferation.
