US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that peace between Iran and Israel is within reach, highlighting ongoing communications and diplomatic efforts as signs of progress.
Posting on his platform Truth Social, Trump stated, “Iran and Israel should — and will — make a deal, just like I facilitated between India and Pakistan by leveraging trade relations with the US. That approach fostered reason and understanding, helping both leaders reach a swift agreement.”
He also referenced his previous mediation efforts, including preventing renewed conflict between Serbia and Kosovo during his first term. “That situation was on the brink of war, but I intervened and stopped it. Although President Biden’s policies have undermined long-term peace prospects, I will restore them,” Trump claimed.
Trump further pointed to his involvement in easing tensions between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, which impacts the Nile’s flow. “There is peace there — at least for now — because of my intervention, and I expect it to last,” he asserted.
Reaffirming his ambition to stabilize the Middle East, Trump declared, “Peace between Israel and Iran is coming. I do a lot without getting credit, but the people understand. Make the Middle East Great Again!”
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Trump held a telephone conversation to discuss escalating regional tensions and explore ceasefire mechanisms. Erdoğan reaffirmed Türkiye’s readiness to support diplomatic efforts, particularly in resolving the ongoing nuclear dispute.
In parallel, French President Emmanuel Macron voiced optimism about an imminent reduction in Iran-Israel tensions. Speaking ahead of the G7 summit in Canada, Macron said he hoped the situation would de-escalate “within the coming hours” and urged the resumption of nuclear negotiations with Tehran.
Macron emphasized the importance of keeping diplomatic channels open and noted that the upcoming summit would offer a platform for further dialogue with global leaders on the matter.
