ISLAMABAD: Authorities have initiated a crackdown on individuals publicly displaying weapons and sharing related content on social media platforms.
On Wednesday, the Crime Control Department (CCD) confirmed the arrest of six suspects during operations conducted in Narowal and Nankana Sahib. The action was based on intelligence gathered through social media monitoring, according to a CCD spokesperson.
Four suspects were detained in Narowal and two in Nankana Sahib, with police recovering a large cache of modern rifles, pistols, and ammunition from their possession.
FIRs have been registered, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the suspects’ activities and possible links to wider networks.
