A video circulating on social media falsely claims that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir died in a skydiving accident in Brazil. The claim is entirely baseless.
The Claim
On May 12, an Indian Instagram account shared a video showing a woman appearing to fall into a ravine after her harness allegedly snapped during a skydive. The video was captioned: “Pakistani actress Hania Aamir’s accidental death.”
The misleading post quickly gained traction, amassing nearly 7.4 million views and spreading across multiple platforms.
The Truth
The woman in the video is not Hania Aamir. The footage actually shows a controlled skydiving stunt performed by Luiza Ferrari, a Brazilian-Italian athlete and content creator.
Experts analyzed the keyframes from the viral clip and traced them back to Ferrari’s original video posted on April 21 to her verified Instagram account. In the full version, Ferrari is seen executing a mid-air stunt — unbuckling herself briefly before deploying her parachute safely.
The viral video was deceptively cropped and edited to remove context, creating the illusion of a fatal accident.
Official Statement
Maida Azmat, COO of MINT PR — the agency handling Hania Aamir’s media relations — also debunked the rumor. “She [Aamir] is very much at work and living life as usual,” Azmat confirmed.
Verdict
✅ False – The viral video does not show Hania Aamir. It features Brazilian skydiver Luiza Ferrari performing a stunt. Hania Aamir is alive and well.
