ISLAMABAD: Mahira Khan, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated and versatile actors, is returning to the big screen this Eid ul Azha with her much-anticipated film Love Guru, co-starring Humayun Saeed.
Having won hearts through iconic dramas like Humsafar, Shehr-e-Zaat, and Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, and proving her cinematic prowess in films such as Superstar and Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, Mahira is once again in the spotlight as fans eagerly await her latest project.
As part of the international promotional tour for Love Guru, Mahira recently touched down in Dubai for a series of meet-and-greet events and press briefings. During one such interaction, a journalist asked her about her past experience working with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and whether Pakistani cinema has caught up with India in terms of technology and production quality.
Mahira responded with grace and perspective:
“That’s quite an old story now. You should’ve asked me about The Legend of Maula Jatt. The production level of that film was unparalleled in the subcontinent — it stood shoulder to shoulder with any international film. And when it comes to technology, I believe we’re improving steadily. There really shouldn’t be a comparison. You’re going to love the visuals and sound of Love Guru.”
Her thoughtful remarks were met with applause, reflecting not only her poise but also the growing confidence in the evolving standards of Pakistani cinema.
