Bridgerton and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan has taken another powerful step in support of the Palestinian cause by donating her one-of-a-kind Peace Lily couture gown, designed by acclaimed designer Robert Wun, to a charity prize draw benefiting humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
In a statement shared by the charity Choose Love, Coughlan said:
“It was an honour to wear this custom gown from the inimitable Robert Wun. The message behind it is a rallying call for peace. I’m delighted to donate this gown to the prize draw to support Choose Love’s work in Gaza.”
She also promoted the initiative on her Instagram Stories, encouraging followers to participate in the prize draw to “win this dress to benefit Choose Love.” Tickets are priced at £25, with no limit on the number of entries, and all proceeds will go directly to providing essential aid in Gaza.
The striking gown — worn by Coughlan at the Canneseries Festival, where she was awarded the Konbini Commitment Award for her activism — is a dramatic, sculptural piece inspired by the Peace Lily flower. Featuring an asymmetrical neckline and sweeping train, the dress has become a symbol of both fashion and advocacy.
Coughlan’s dedication to the Palestinian cause is personal. Her late father served as a UN peacekeeper in the Middle East, and her family lived in Jerusalem during the 1970s. She has long used her public platform to advocate for civilians affected by conflict.
“To me, it always becomes about supporting all innocent people… That’s my drive,” she said.
Despite acknowledging potential career risks, Coughlan remains committed to her activism. She has helped raise over $2 million through various fundraisers for Palestinian humanitarian relief, exemplifying the power of celebrity influence in global advocacy.
