Quetta: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday squarely blamed the Indian-backed terrorist group Fitnat-ul-Hind for the deadly suicide bombing of a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, which claimed the lives of several innocent schoolchildren.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, the prime minister, accompanied by Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, paid an emergency visit to Quetta. During their visit, they met with injured victims at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and expressed solidarity with their families.
At a security briefing led by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and the Quetta Corps Commander, both leaders were updated on the circumstances surrounding the attack. Federal ministers and top military officials present at the session expressed deep grief over the loss of young lives.
Chairing a high-level security meeting, PM Shehbaz emphasized the urgency of taking decisive action against all terrorist networks operating in the region. He condemned the assault as a “shameful and cowardly act orchestrated by Indian-sponsored militants,” stressing that such attacks would only strengthen Pakistan’s resolve.
“This heinous targeting of innocent children exposes the moral decay of those responsible, especially India,” the prime minister said. “By sponsoring these terrorists, India has reached a new low in its campaign of hostility.”
He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to peace and stability, but warned that the nation will not hesitate to expose India’s actions on the global stage. “We will pursue justice relentlessly and ensure that the perpetrators and their facilitators are brought to account,” he declared.
The prime minister also warned of foreign-backed militant efforts to exploit ethnic and regional identities to sow discord. “These elements are a disgrace to the proud heritage of the Baloch and Pashtun people,” he said, adding that national unity would remain Pakistan’s strongest defense.
