BEIJING: Pakistan and China have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening institutional linkages between their political parties, marking a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a key meeting in Beijing on Tuesday with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC). Both leaders agreed to enhance exchanges and coordination between Pakistan’s political leadership and the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Dar expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and core national interests, emphasizing the importance of the two countries’ long-standing strategic partnership.
Liu Jianchao reiterated that China considers its relationship with Pakistan a top foreign policy priority, describing it as an “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” He stressed that China remains committed to further consolidating its ties with Pakistan, especially through party-to-party dialogue and strategic coordination.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office ahead of the visit, Dar is also scheduled to meet Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi for comprehensive discussions on the evolving regional dynamics in South Asia, with a focus on peace and stability.
The high-level engagements come amid growing momentum in Pakistan-China relations. Just last month, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong remarked that ties between the two nations are progressing swiftly and positively on multiple fronts.
