ISLAMABAD: National Security Advisor (NSA) Lt. Gen. Asim Malik and his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, held a comprehensive telephone discussion on Monday, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and addressing shared regional concerns.
During the call, both officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties and collaborating on regional security issues.
Ahmadian emphasized that Iran and Pakistan “will not allow external actors to destabilize regional peace,” underscoring Tehran’s stance on resisting foreign interference.
Lt. Gen. Malik acknowledged Iranโs โconstructive and stabilizing roleโ in the region and expressed Pakistanโs willingness to deepen cooperation with Tehran across areas of mutual interest.
The conversation comes in the wake of a recent call between Ahmadian and Indiaโs NSA, signaling Iranโs proactive efforts to build regional partnerships and strengthen diplomatic outreach.
