Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani represented Pakistan at the spiritual inauguration ceremony of Pope Leo at the Vatican, where he conveyed the heartfelt wishes of the Government and people of Pakistan.
Gilani’s presence at the ceremony is being seen as a strong gesture of interfaith harmony and goodwill. As Pakistan’s official representative, he underscored the country’s commitment to interreligious dialogue, peace, and mutual respect—key pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
He also reaffirmed the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, stating that all religious communities in Pakistan have the right to live with dignity, freedom, and respect.
