ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning for an intense heatwave expected to sweep across the country in the coming days. A high-pressure weather system is set to impact most regions beginning tomorrow.
From May 15 to 20, temperatures are forecast to rise sharply, particularly in Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan, where they may climb 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above seasonal norms.
Central and upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad are also expected to face unusually high temperatures, with increases of 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal levels, according to the PMD.
Authorities are urging the public to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the extreme heat during this period.
