Indian Aggression
A total of 51 Pakistanis, including 11 armed forces personnel, were martyred as a result of Indian strikes during the recent military escalation between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.
The militaryโs media wing condemned the โbarbaricโ and unprovoked attacks by the Indian armed forces, which it said deliberately targeted civilian populations in violation of international humanitarian norms.
The ISPR revealed that Indian forces launched a series of brutal assaults on the night of May 6 and 7, hitting non-combatant areas and causing widespread casualties among innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.
โThese reprehensible strikes resulted in the martyrdom of 40 civilians, including 7 women and 15 children,โ the statement said. In addition, 121 civilians were injured, among them 10 women and 27 children.
In response to this grave provocation, the Pakistan armed forces undertook a robust and resolute retaliatory campaign under the banner of Marka-e-Haq, delivering a series of precise and proportional strikes during Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
The military action targeted Indian military positions across multiple regions and was described by officials as a measured yet decisive response to Indian aggression across the Line of Control (LoC) and within Pakistani territory.
While defending the motherland, 11 brave members of the Pakistan armed forces laid down their lives. The ISPR also reported that 78 soldiers sustained injuries in the line of duty. The names of the martyred personnel were released as a tribute to their sacrifice: Naik Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Dilawar Khan, Lance Naik Ikramullah, Naik Waqar Khalid, Sepoy Muhammad Adeel Akbar, Sepoy Nisar, Squadron Leader Usman Yousuf, Chief Technician Aurangzeb, Senior Technician Najeeb, Corporal Technician Farooq, and Senior Technician Mubashir.
โThese martyrs represent the embodiment of courage, loyalty, and patriotism,โ the ISPR stated, adding that their sacrifice is forever etched in the nationโs memory. The armed forces, alongside the people of Pakistan, offered solemn tributes and prayers for both the fallen and the injured.
Reaffirming Pakistanโs resolve, the ISPR warned that any future challenge to the countryโs sovereignty or territorial integrity would be met with a โswift, full-spectrum, and decisive response.โ
The military confrontation between India and Pakistan, triggered by Indiaโs claims of targeting so-called โterrorist infrastructureโ in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), lasted nearly 87 hours. The hostilities came to a halt on May 10, when a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States was announced, bringing a tense and violent standoff to an end.
