‘Akhand Bharat’
Punjab’s Information Minister, Azma Bokhari, on Sunday made a bold statement during a thanksgiving ceremony in Shahdara, Lahore, asserting that the Pakistan Army had effectively dismantled Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s longstanding vision of an “Akhand Bharat.”
Addressing a crowd gathered to celebrate what was described as a strategic military success, Bokhari commended the courage and preparedness of the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly in thwarting what she claimed was an imminent threat from across the eastern border.
Bokhari highlighted that India had harboured intentions of striking Lahore, a move that was swiftly countered by the readiness and rapid response of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). “India aimed to target Lahore, but our Shaheens (falcons) took to the skies and made them rethink their choices,” she said, using vivid language to describe Pakistan’s military retaliation. “Our fighter jets delivered breakfast and dinner to them,” she added, referencing the PAF’s decisive aerial operations in a metaphorical manner that drew applause from the audience.
The minister expressed deep gratitude for what she termed as divine favour and national resilience. “We are immensely thankful to Allah for the protection and success granted to our beloved homeland,” Bokhari remarked, her voice echoing a strong sense of national pride and unity.
She also extended heartfelt congratulations on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, his federal cabinet, and the leadership of Pakistan’s armed forces. “We salute Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, the air chief, and the naval chief for standing as a shield to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty,” she said.
Turning her attention to the Indian media, Bokhari commented on its reaction to the recent developments. “The Indian media was fuming with rage. Their frustration was evident as they attempted to spin the narrative despite the facts on the ground,” she stated.
Bokhari’s remarks reflected not just political posturing, but a larger sentiment of nationalistic celebration and confidence in Pakistan’s defence capabilities.
As the crowd cheered and the atmosphere remained charged with patriotic fervour, the message was clear—Pakistan, in their view, had not only defended its territory but had also delivered a significant psychological blow to its adversary.
