ISLAMABAD: In response to what it described as unprovoked Indian missile attacks on its territory, the Pakistan Army has launched a major military operation named Bunyan ul Marsoos, targeting multiple Indian military installations.
The operation follows claims by Pakistan that India fired missiles at three of its air bases in the early hours of Saturday, including one near the capital, Islamabad. Pakistani air defense systems reportedly intercepted the majority of the incoming missiles.
Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors have sharply escalated since Wednesday, when India launched strikes inside Pakistani territory amid their ongoing dispute over Kashmir. Pakistan had vowed a firm response, which has now materialized through this operation.
The name Bunyan ul Marsoos is derived from a verse in the Holy Quran, symbolizing unity, strength, and an impenetrable defense — “a wall constructed of molten lead.”
In a symbolic tribute, the Pakistan Army displayed a banner on a missile launch vehicle bearing the names of children who were reportedly martyred during India’s earlier strikes.
The image, released by ISPR, shows Pakistani soldiers standing beside the decorated vehicle as a gesture of remembrance and defiance.
