In a significant phone call, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan contacted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to express grave concern over India’s recent missile strikes on Pakistani soil.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif thanked Turkey for its consistent and unwavering support, especially in light of India’s unprovoked aggression. He strongly condemned the missile attacks that claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including women and children, calling them a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and a serious threat to regional peace.
President Erdogan offered his heartfelt condolences for the loss of innocent lives and commended Pakistan’s commitment to peace and restraint. He reiterated Turkey’s solidarity with Pakistan, affirming that the Turkish people stand firmly with Pakistan in defending its territorial integrity and ensuring regional stability.
Prime Minister Sharif also pointed out India’s baseless accusations linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident. He emphasized that India has failed to present any credible evidence and continues to reject calls for an impartial international investigation. Sharif noted that India’s aggressive actions and refusal to engage in dialogue have only worsened regional tensions.
Erdogan further revealed that Turkey’s Foreign Minister had recently spoken with Pakistan’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dar regarding the deteriorating situation. He assured Prime Minister Sharif of Turkey’s full support in de-escalation efforts and expressed willingness to assist in any diplomatic resolution.
President Erdogan concluded by reaffirming Turkey’s backing of Pakistan’s peaceful diplomatic initiatives and reiterated that Turkey will continue standing by Pakistan in its pursuit of peace, stability, and justice.
