RAWALPINDI: Seven Pakistan Army personnel were martyred and five others injured in a terrorist attack carried out by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in the Mach area of Kachhi district, Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the incident occurred on May 6 when terrorists affiliated with the India-backed BLA targeted a security forces vehicle using an improvised explosive device (IED).
The blast claimed the lives of seven valiant soldiers: Subedar Umar Farooq, Naik Asif Khan, Naik Mashkoor Ali, Sepoy Tariq Nawaz, Sepoy Wajid Ahmed Faiz, Sepoy Muhammad Asim, and Sepoy Muhammad Kashif Khan.
In response, a clearance and search operation is underway to locate and eliminate the terrorists responsible for the attack.
Condemning the assault, the ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and the entire nation are united in their commitment to defeating terrorism and safeguarding peace, stability, and development in Balochistan.
“The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our national resolve,” the statement said. “The malicious designs of India and its proxies will, Insha’Allah, be thwarted by the unwavering courage and unity of Pakistan’s security forces, institutions, and people.”
