Hollywood actor Penn Badgley, known for his compelling roles in YOU and Gossip Girl, has offered a rare glimpse into his spiritual life, revealing that he draws inspiration from a diverse range of faith traditions.
In an interview with USA Today, Badgley spoke candidly about his daily spiritual practices and how they shape his personal and professional life. Among the most surprising revelations was that he keeps a copy of the Quran on his bedside table. “To be honest, the Quran is always on my bedside table,” he said, noting that he often reflects on its verses and the wisdom they offer.
The disclosure has resonated with fans around the world, particularly in an era where celebrities are increasingly opening up about their inner journeys and spiritual identities.
Badgley’s spiritual discipline extends beyond nighttime reading. A devout practitioner of the Baha’i Faith, he begins each day with the “long obligatory prayer,” one of the central devotional acts in Baha’i practice. Despite a demanding schedule as both a father and an actor, he says this morning ritual is non-negotiable.
“Even if my mornings are chaotic because of the kids and work, this is the one thing I never skip,” he shared. He explained that the prayer usually takes 15 minutes, though he can shorten it to seven if needed, followed by a couple of minutes of meditation. “If I can set aside 15 to 20 minutes, it feels like a luxury. It helps me reconnect with life’s meaning and purpose,” he added.
Penn Badgley’s openness about drawing from both the Baha’i Faith and the Quran reflects a broader spiritual curiosity, offering a thoughtful reminder that beyond the spotlight, many public figures are quietly engaged in seeking purpose, peace, and perspective.
