ISLAMABAD: Actress and model Alizeh Shah has announced her departure from social media after facing relentless online criticism.
Known for her roles in Superstar and Ehd-e-Wafa, Shah shared a final Instagram story simply stating “She Quits” before wiping all her posts. In her farewell message, she described social media as “hell,” signaling her frustration with the digital landscape.
The young actress had previously spoken out about feeling under constant attack by internet users, admitting that while she appeared resilient, she was “going through a lot.” Shah had also defended her reputation, stating she had “never done anything immoral to secure roles,” despite enduring ongoing public judgment.
Reaction to her departure has been sharply divided. Some critics dismissed her exit as attention-seeking behavior, with one remarking, “If you are posting publicly, you should be ready for public reactions too.” On the other hand, many supporters expressed concern for her mental health, offering prayers and urging her to seek peace and support.
Shah, who became a household name early in her career, has frequently found herself at the center of controversy, with debates often focusing on her clothing choices, personal style, and appearances in music videos.
It remains unclear whether Shah’s exit from social media is temporary or permanent, and she has yet to reveal whether she plans to continue her acting career.
