Widespread Rainfall
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a detailed rainfall forecast, predicting widespread rainfall across several regions of the country, with northern areas set to experience significant precipitation in the coming days.
The forecast indicates that Islamabad and its surrounding regions will see partly overcast skies, with intermittent showers expected throughout the week.
Some areas may even experience hailstorms, adding to the variability of the weather patterns. This rainfall system will likely impact different parts of the capital territory, providing a much-needed reprieve from the dry spell.
Several districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are also expected to receive substantial rainfall. Areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, and Bajaur are all within the rainfall belt. The prediction extends to the Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, and Kohat regions as well, where precipitation is anticipated in varying amounts.
The weather system will move across central and northern Pakistan, causing showers in Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Swabi. These areas, along with Kohat, Bannu, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan, will also experience rain over the course of the coming days.
In Punjab, which is expected to receive heavy rainfall, several cities and towns will be affected. Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum are likely to see substantial rain. Other areas including Talagang, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, and Mandi Bahauddin will also witness significant rainfall, which is particularly beneficial for agricultural regions in need of water.
Additionally, areas such as Sargodha, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Faisalabad are all forecasted to receive rain.
While most of Sindh will remain dry and hot, the northern and upper parts of the province, including Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, and Kashmore, will experience some rainfall.
Similarly, Balochistan is expected to stay generally hot and dry, though Lasbela, Washuk, and Khuzdar are likely to receive some rain.
Meteorologists have advised residents in the affected areas, particularly those prone to flash floods or urban drainage issues, to take precautionary measures. The expected rainfall is seen as crucial for addressing water shortages and providing much-needed relief to agricultural areas across the country.
