In a shocking revelation, Rawalpindi police officials have been implicated in a disturbing honeytrap operation, where they used a woman to lure and abduct two citizens for ransom. The incident, which occurred on March 29, has raised serious concerns over the safety of the public, as it appears that those entrusted with protecting citizens were involved in orchestrating criminal activity.
The two victims were abducted in Islamabad and a ransom was demanded. The case was formally registered at the Sangjani police station. Rawalpindi police personnel, Zahid Usman and Afaq, along with other accomplices, including a woman, are alleged to have played a role in the operation, using the woman to entice the victims before carrying out the abductions.
Following leads, authorities arrested Shahid Iqbal, one of the gang members. The search for the remaining members of the criminal group, including the police officers and their associates, is still underway.
This troubling case adds to mounting concerns about the involvement of law enforcement officials in criminal activities, further eroding public trust in those meant to protect them.
