Young woman in Lahore killed on wedding day

A 23-year-old girl was shot dead by unknown assailants on her wedding day in Lahore’s Sundar area, within the limits of Mohlanwal Aziz Colony.

Police report that the victim, identified as Aisha, daughter of Habib, was struck in the head by a bullet. Relatives suspect the girl’s brother-in-law.

Ayesha, a 23-year-old woman, was set to marry Falak Sher, a young man from Bhai Pheru, with the wedding procession expected to arrive at 1 PM. After the Mehndi ceremony the previous evening, Ayesha retired to her room to sleep. In the early hours of the morning, she was tragically shot and killed. The assailant discarded the firearm in an empty plot next to the house and fled the scene.

Police and forensic teams have begun gathering evidence and are investigating the incident from various angles.

The police have recovered the weapon used in the crime. Relatives have expressed suspicion about the victim’s brother-in-law, Ikram, claiming that he behaved oddly after the murder. Following the incident, Ikram pretended to be ill and vanished, raising further concerns. The family has called for his immediate arrest and demands that he be given a proper punishment.

After completing initial investigative actions, the authorities transferred the body to the morgue with the assistance of an Edhi ambulance.

Police officials have confirmed that fingerprints have been collected from the murder weapon. They stated that once the post-mortem examination report is received, further details will be revealed, and the investigation will move forward accordingly.
