In a gesture aimed at reuniting families for Eid al-Fitr, 214 inmates have been released from prisons across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Following the directives of Peshawar High Court Chief Justice SM Attique Shah, District and Sessions Judges, along with Judicial Magistrates, visited jails in all districts of the province.
During these visits, the judicial officers reviewed and resolved cases involving minor offenses, resulting in the release of the prisoners, as stated in a press release issued on Friday.
This initiative was designed to allow individuals convicted of petty crimes to return home and celebrate Eid with their families. It underscores the judiciary’s commitment to justice and compassion, particularly during significant religious occasions, offering inmates a chance to reintegrate into society with a fresh start.
