The federal government announced the portfolios of its newly inducted cabinet members on Friday, with Hanif Abbasi appointed as the Federal Minister for Railways and Mustafa Kamal taking charge of the Ministry of Health.
According to an official notification, Khawaja Asif will retain his position as the Minister of Defense, while Azam Nazir Tarar has been assigned the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Human Rights.
Abdul Aleem Khan has been named the Federal Minister for Communications, while Musdaik Malik will oversee the Ministry of Climate Change. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has been entrusted with the Ministry of Education, and Chaudhry Salik has been appointed to lead the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis.
Rana Tanveer will now focus solely on the Ministry of National Food Security, while Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has been appointed Federal Minister for the Board of Investment. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry will take charge of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, and Ali Pervaiz Malik has been given responsibility for the Ministry of Petroleum. Khalid Hussain Magsi has been assigned the Science and Technology portfolio.
Muhammad Munir Wattoo will serve as the Federal Minister for Water Resources, while Aurangzeb Khichi will head the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture. Muhammad Junaid Anwar has been tasked with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, and Raza Hayat Hiraj will oversee the Ministry of Defense Production.
Sardar Yousaf has been appointed Minister for Religious Affairs, while Shaza Fatima will lead the Ministry of Information Technology. Rana Mubashir Iqbal will serve as the Minister for the Public Affairs Unit.
The government confirmed that the portfolios for special assistants and advisors will be announced separately. Additionally, three ministers have yet to take their oaths due to their unavailability at the ceremony.
The cabinet members were sworn in earlier this week at a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, administered by President. The government has expressed confidence that the newly appointed ministers will work effectively to address the nation’s key challenges and enhance governance.
