ISLAMABAD: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Ghulam Khan Kalay, North Waziristan, on February 28, 2025, targeting suspected militants. During the operation, six terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire, and a cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered. The militants were reportedly involved in multiple attacks on security forces and civilians.
Following the raid, a sanitisation operation is underway to clear the area of any remaining threats. Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country.
President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security personnel for their successful operation. President Zardari expressed gratitude to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national security and praised the forces for eliminating the terrorists. PM Shehbaz reaffirmed the government’s determination to eradicate terrorism, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army would not be in vain.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi also commended the forces for thwarting the terrorist plot, stating that six militants had been neutralized.
