ISLAMABAD: Rain and thunderstorms with snowfall over hills are predicted in parts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Mastung, Pishin, and others on March 2 and 3.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms with snowfall are expected in areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Abbottabad, and Peshawar from March 2 (night) to March 4 (afternoon).
In Punjab, rain and thunderstorms are likely in cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, and Sialkot from March 2 (night) to March 3, with light rain expected in Multan, Bahawalpur, and Sahiwal. Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will also receive rain and snowfall from March 2 (night) to March 4 (afternoon), while light rain and thunderstorms may occur in Sukkur and Larkana in Sindh during this period.
The PMD has warned that heavy snowfall may lead to road closures and slippery conditions in Murree, Galliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Swat, and Skardu. There is also a high risk of landslides and avalanches in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.
Hailstorms may occur in parts of upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Kashmir. Travelers and tourists are advised to exercise caution, while farmers should plan agricultural activities accordingly. Authorities have been urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions, especially in hilly areas, to prevent any untoward incidents.
