Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof, announced on Wednesday that Bangladeshis applying for visas to Pakistan for purposes beyond business would receive them within 24 hours. He further stated that steps are being taken to simplify the visa process officially within the next month.
Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion with leaders of the Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries, held at the Chamber building in Rangpur city, the high commissioner emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Bangladesh in economic, business, and cultural sectors.
During the meeting, he also revealed plans to introduce tax-free facilities for the export of Pakistani goods to Bangladesh within the year. Discussions between the two nations are ongoing, and he assured that necessary measures to enhance trade and diplomatic cooperation will be implemented soon.
Highlighting the importance of fostering closer bilateral relations, Maroof noted that Pakistan values its partnership with Bangladesh and is eager to improve collaboration in various fields. He expressed his pleasure at visiting Rangpur after many years, recognizing the city’s economic potential and cultural significance.
The high commissioner reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to facilitating travel and trade between the two countries. He encouraged increased engagement between businesses and cultural institutions, stating that both nations stand to benefit from enhanced cooperation.
With streamlined visa procedures and improved trade policies, Pakistan aims to create a more accessible and business-friendly environment for Bangladeshi travelers and entrepreneurs.
