ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan and England will face off in a must-win encounter in the 8th match of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the revamped Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Wednesday, February 26.
Both teams were seen practicing ahead of the virtual knockout match, preparing for the high-stakes contest.
Earlier in the day, the match between South Africa and Australia was postponed due to rain.
Afghanistan’s captain Hashmatullah Shahidi praised former Pakistan cricketer Younis Khan, calling him a “legend” and expressing his desire to learn from his experience.
Shahidi also voiced optimism that the Afghan spinners would benefit from the Lahore wicket, which contrasts with the conditions in Karachi.
Meanwhile, India and New Zealand have already qualified for the semi-finals, while Bangladesh and host Pakistan have been eliminated from the tournament.
