Four security personnel were martyred and two others injured in a terrorist attack on a checkpoint in Spinwam tehsil, North Waziristan, on Monday morning, according to sources.
The attack occurred in the Darweshta area of Spinwam, where terrorists launched an assault on the security forces. In response, security forces engaged in a heavy exchange of fire, utilizing both heavy and light weaponry.
The four martyred personnel, along with the injured, were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu for treatment. Sources reported that, during the clash, three militants were also killed by security forces.
Following the attack, the area was cordoned off, and a search operation was launched. As of the filing of this report, no official statement had been issued by the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
10 Terrorists Killed in Khyber Encounter
Meanwhile, in Khyber district, security forces killed 10 terrorists in an encounter late Sunday night. According to a statement by ISPR, the operation was carried out through an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bagh area of Khyber.
The security forces successfully targeted the terrorists’ location, neutralizing 10 militants. A sanitization operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area.
