Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan from Lahore, leading a high-level delegation. The visit, at the invitation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, aims to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance collaboration across multiple sectors
The delegation includes key figures such as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Investment Board, Communications, and Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, as well as ministers Jam Kamal Khan, Attaullah Tarar, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold an important bilateral meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation in areas like energy, trade, defense, education, and climate change, paving the way for closer collaboration between the two nations.
In addition, the Prime Minister will address a business forum in Azerbaijan, where he will present investment opportunities and economic partnership prospects.
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements are expected to be signed to boost trade, investment, and strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
This marks Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s second official visit to Azerbaijan since taking office in March 2024, with both nations optimistic about deepening their bilateral relationship.
