A woman has announced that she is divorcing her husband after witnessing him boo American singer Taylor Swift during Super Bowl LIX.
“I’m divorcing my husband because he booed Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl, and I still don’t think he believes me,” Louisa Melcher shared in a video posted on Instagram and TikTok.
In the clip, she is seen sitting in her car, seemingly after filing paperwork to dissolve her marriage at the local courthouse.
“To be honest, he might want to start believing it because I just filed my paperwork, and you can see right here—the date of separation is this year’s Super Bowl,” she said.
Melcher clarified that the decision wasn’t just about the act of booing itself but what it symbolized in their relationship.
She expressed her long-standing admiration for Taylor Swift, whom she has loved since she was 12 years old. She also noted that her husband had enjoyed Swift’s music as well, often playing her songs while they cooked together, with “Girl at Home” being his favorite.
However, at the Super Bowl, when Taylor Swift appeared on the Jumbotron, her husband joined his five friends in booing her, which deeply upset Melcher.
“Thankfully, I have a prenup. I’ll be retaining all of my assets as well as the assets I inherited—with peace and love,” she added.
Social media users were quick to react, with one person commenting, “I’m confused—I thought you had a boyfriend in LA, and now you have a husband?”
Another user responded, claiming, “Her entire account is just satire; none of it’s real.” However, someone else countered, saying, “They got married, it’s not satire.”
